Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page. I am happy to have this chance to introduce myself to you and to tell you about my work as a hospital-based and long-term care physician, and as a physician administrator at Kaiser Permanente South Bay Medical Center. I am an internal medicine physician, and have practiced for more than 26 years. I transitioned into my administrative role as the physician director for quality improvement for Kaiser Permanente South Bay. I feel fortunate to be able to work at Kaiser Permanente, both as a clinician as well as an administrator, who works to help you receive the very best health care possible.
I hail from India, where I trained in medicine and did my residency in internal medicine in a community hospital with a city population of about 10 million people. This opportunity gave me great insight into medicine, and it was rewarding to be able to help the needy and poor. My hobbies include traveling with family, listening to Indian and New Age music, and learning about different cultures.
About my practice
I am a hospital-based and long-term care physician. I feel that healthy living and preventive care are the best ways to stay healthy, but I am also here to help you when you are sick. I want to be your partner in health, and it helps me better care for you when you are actively involved in taking care of your health. I highly regard our medical team of physicians, nurses, social workers, therapists, and support staff, and hold them to a high standard of performance, responsibility, and accountability in order to meet your needs.
How I thrive
I firmly believe in Kaiser Permanente's philosophy of total health, which considers all aspects of a person's state of being: body, mind, and spirit. My family life is my major priority. I live in a healthy way by including a daily, brief exercise regimen and a healthy eating lifestyle.
