Volunteers play a key role in enhancing the overall patient care experience through their dedication, service, and commitment to excellence.
We offer a wide range of non-clinical volunteer opportunities from hospital and medical center roles in surgical services, oncology, inpatient units, clerical and greeter roles, virtual/home crafters, and more. We also offer specialty programs for musicians through our Healing Music program and for pet owners with trained therapy pets through our Paws for Wellness Program.”
Ideal candidates are caring, compassionate, friendly, and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
General Requirements for Our Volunteer Programs:
- Applicants must meet the minimum age requirement of 16+ years to be eligible for consideration.
- Complete the online application, ensuring that each question is answered clearly and with detailed information.
- Schedule and complete an interview.
- If selected, complete all required onboarding steps.
- Must be able to commit to a minimum of six months of service, volunteering at least one day per week for a four-hour shift.
- Possess strong verbal and written English language skills.
- Demonstrate strong customer service abilities and effective communication skills.
- Maintain professional behavior at all times.
Please note that we do not offer job or clinical shadowing opportunities, internships, or externships, including placements for physician, radiology, physical therapy, occupational therapy, sterile processing, or nursing roles.

Medicare Members: To request a hard copy of Kaiser Permanente’s provider directory, please call our Member Services department at 1-800-443-0815, seven days a week, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Kaiser Permanente will mail a hard copy of the provider directory to you within three (3) business days of your request. Kaiser Permanente may ask whether your request for a hard copy is a one-time request or if you are requesting to receive the provider directory in hard copy permanently.
