Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page. I’m happy to have this chance to introduce myself to you and tell you about my work as an infectious disease specialist.
I was born in Ecuador but grew up in Los Angeles. I speak fluent English and Spanish. I attended medical school at UC San Francisco and subsequently did my training at Southern California hospitals. I love medicine, especially my subspecialty of infectious disease because it’s very fulfilling to have a positive impact on people’s lives. Infectious disease is an exciting field that is always changing and challenging and often at the forefront of national and world news.
About my practice
Infectious disease is a division of the Internal Medicine Department, but we function independently. My division consists of three infectious disease physicians, of which I am one. The small size of the team allows for a more personal touch and makes it easier to reach us. Appointments to see me typically require a consultation request submitted by your personal physician.
How I thrive
I try to follow the same advice I give to members regarding diet and exercise. I love sports, especially baseball, and try to get in my swings against the pitching machine as often as I can. I also love to read history and learn about different cultures. I collect ancient coins, which is a way for me to hold history in my hands.
