Where I practice
Hello and welcome to the Department of Psychiatry.
I am originally from San Diego, California. I completed my residency training with the United States Army and as a result have lived in many places to include Texas, Hawaii, North Carolina, and South Korea. I am fortunate that my military training offered me so many diverse experiences and exposure to so many different cultures. I enjoy practicing psychiatry, because it gives me an opportunity to get to know my patients and truly come to understand them.
About my practice
I believe that emotional well-being is essential for us to function well in the many roles that we have in life. I strive to provide compassionate care for all of my patients and have an appreciation of how difficult it might be to seek help when struggling emotionally. At our first visit, we will spend time discussing your medical and psychiatric history and come to an understanding of how these may be interacting to produce your symptoms. We will also discuss the ways that you best cope with stress and discuss ways to incorporate healthy lifestyle modifications that will promote positive mood and emotional healing. Medications that might be helpful in alleviating and treating your symptoms will be discussed as well. I think you will find that our department works very well as a team to best serve you and provide you with the most comprehensive care available.
How I thrive
I thrive by looking for ways to maintain balance in my life. I enjoy spending time with my family, dancing, and taking yoga classes. I also have an appreciation for the arts and theater. I look forward to meeting you and to working together to help you achieve balance in your life!
