Where I practice
Hi there and welcome to my Web page!
I was born in Los Angeles and moved to Texas with my family when I was eight years old. I attended the University of Texas at San Antonio for my undergraduate degree and the University of Texas Medical Branch for medical school. After medical school, I returned to my hometown for a pediatric residency at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center, and had the honor to serve as the chief pediatric resident for one year. Before I knew I wanted to become a doctor, I had wanted to be a teacher and I think that part of me is still very much alive. I was fortunate enough to get a full-time position as a pediatric hospitalist here at the Los Angeles Medical Center, where I can not only educate families about their children's illnesses but also have the opportunity to teach young pediatricians in training. I truly believe I have the best job in the world!
About my practice
As a pediatric hospitalist, I take care of children that have become sick enough to require care in a hospital. My biggest responsibility is to not just to treat children, but to care for their entire family. That requires a superstar team of nurses, child life specialists, social workers, and many other key individuals. By taking a multidisciplinary team approach, I believe it gives us the upper hand in reaching our mutual goal of helping children thrive.
How I thrive
My husband and I love to go hiking in many of the beautiful landscapes Southern California has to offer. We also enjoy cooking healthy meals together with herbs and vegetables picked from our very own garden.
