About me

I am a dual board-certified physician, specializing in anesthesiology and pediatrics with a subspecialty in regional anesthesiology and acute pain medicine. I completed my residency training at Yale University and my fellowship training under Cornell University at the Hospital for Special Surgery and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. I provide anesthesia for adults and children and focus on using different types of analgesics and nerve blocks to minimize narcotic use and provide a more comfortable recovery. I grew up in Los Angeles and now live in Orange County with my wife and children.

Biography

After emigrating from the Philippines in elementary school, I spent most of my life in Los Angeles and attended UCLA for college, graduating magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. Prior to anesthesiology training, I completed a pediatrics residency and received board certification from the American Board of Pediatrics. In addition to clinical practice, I am interested in medical technology. During my pediatric residency, I created the first physician-developed mobile application for adolescent health in Orange County. Since then, I created a second app called Yale Gassing Greener, a tool that helps anesthesia providers build environmentally conscious practices. I also dedicate my time to overseas mission work, having traveled to Honduras and the Philippines with the Christian Medical and Dental Association and Destination Hope. In my spare time, I am an amateur musician, photographer, and videographer.

About my practice

As an anesthesiologist, I care for members who are undergoing surgery and invasive medical procedures. My job is to make sure that your experience is as safe and comfortable as possible. Typical services I cover are orthopedics, thoracic surgery, pediatrics, and obstetrics. My skill set includes peripheral nerve blocks, truncal blocks, epidurals, point-of-care ultrasound, and spinal injections in conjunction with the airway management and vascular access involved in general anesthesia. Being dual board-certified physician in anesthesiology and pediatrics and fellowship-trained in regional anesthesia and acute pain anesthesiologist, I have additional experience in caring for children and perioperative pain management.

How I thrive

I thrive doing anything with my wife and children. We enjoy traveling, sports, food, music, and spending time at the beach. I stay active at a local gym and nourish my spirit by serving at church and nonprofit organizations.
