About me

Welcome to my Web page. I am happy to have this chance to introduce myself to you and tell you about my practice. I feel very fortunate to work at Kaiser Permanente because of our emphasis on prevention of disease and the high quality of care. I look forward to partnering with you to care for your health.

Biography

I was raised in Virginia and completed my residency in North Carolina. After three decades on the East Coast I felt a change of longitude was necessary, and headed west to California. I joined Kaiser Permanente in the Bay Area and practiced there for three years. I very much enjoyed living in San Francisco and getting to know the area through friends, hiking, cycling, and concerts. Love brought me to the South Bay. I married my husband, also a physician, who grew up right around the corner from where I practice now. We now live near the beach with our son and golden retriever.

About my practice

I have a wide-ranging practice in obstetrics and gynecology, with a particular interest in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, specifically, hysterectomy. I also love taking care of complex obstetrical issues and support healthy birthing options. My practice is evidence-based and I take care to be current with the newest research. I strongly believe your health is positively influenced by the fuel you put into your body and the activity you get out of it. Counseling members on eating healthy and getting more exercise is a cornerstone of my practice. We have a strong commitment to primary and preventive medicine and our philosophy is to keep patients healthy. I know visits to the physician can be very stressful, but I hope I can provide you with excellent care that is informative and compassionate.

How I thrive

The most important ingredient for staying healthy is to maintain a positive balance between work, family, exercise, and relaxation. I make it a priority to nourish my body with healthy and fresh foods; however, everyone needs an occasional splurge and I am no exception. My husband and I love to explore new restaurants, nearby neighborhoods, and far-flung places. We've been to more than 30 countries and still have more to see! To relax and unwind I do yoga, play in the park with my son, and hike with my dog. The South Bay has incredible natural beauty and many places for challenging hikes or peaceful walks. My other interests include Pilates, scuba diving, cooking with friends, and reading.
