About me
My name is Jane Abdelhadi. I work in the Continuing Care Department.
Biography
I was born in the Philippines but came to the United States when I was 4. I grew up around Pittsburgh. My family moved to New Mexico when I was 21. That is where I eventually went to medical school. I am a third-generation physician in my family. It just seemed like a natural fit to become a doctor. I continued to move westward and landed at UC Irvine, where I did my internal medicine residency. I met my husband in residency and have stayed in Orange County since. I have 2 kids, a daughter and a son. Besides spending time with my family, I like to work out and stay fit.
About my practice
I work in continuing care. I have been seeing patients at skilled nursing facilities for over 15 years. I enjoy working with the geriatric community very much. I find that they have so many experiences and so much wisdom to share, and I have gotten great advice about how to be happy in life, marriage, and career. Our team in the Continuing Care Department is like a well-oiled machine. We know what our roles are, and we help each other out as much as we can. Our team is special because it is multidisciplinary. I love working with different people in the medical field. It is tremendously helpful to approach caring for seniors with a good, supportive team behind you.
How I thrive
I am a big believer in staying well. I try very hard to keep in shape. I believe in alternative medicine and often supplement Western medicine practices with acupuncture and cupping techniques. I do find joy in eating, though, and will never refuse a good piece of cake. Life is about balance. I don't believe in deprivation—everything should be done in moderation. I think everyone should really look into finding activities they enjoy!
