Welcome to my Web page. I am happy to have this chance to introduce myself to you and tell you about my practice. I believe that it's important for everyone to feel comfortable with his or her personal physician. I hope this page will help you get to know me better.
I was born in South Korea but immigrated to the U.S. when I was 9 years old. I grew up in Venice Beach, enjoying the Southern California lifestyle. I attended UC Berkeley for my undergraduate studies and went to Washington, D.C., to attend medical school at George Washington University. I met my wife while I was there, and stayed on the East Coast for internal medicine training at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Maryland. After my residency, we moved to Arizona and worked for the Indian Health Service, serving Navajo Indians on a reservation. Although we loved Arizona, we moved back to Southern California to be closer to family. Now, besides my work with Kaiser Permanente, my time is predominantly spent with my family, which includes our four children.
I am currently working as an internal medicine physician, specializing in the care of people in the hospital. I see members at both our Anaheim Medical Center and Irvine Medical Center.
I try to run three to four miles regularly. So far, I've run in several 10K races and finished two half marathons and one full marathon. I also believe that maintaining a strong spiritual and family life is vital to health. I regularly attend church and try to devote significant time to building my faith. I’m trying to build my family with much love and grace. My family enjoys sports (soccer, baseball, tennis, and running), hiking, and camping. I believe that living well is not easy, but it is definitely a worthwhile goal.
