About me
Welcome to my Web page. In the age of technology, this seems like a great way to introduce myself and for you to learn a bit more about me prior to us meeting in person. I hope this sets the stage for a productive, informative, and helpful visit.
Biography
I grew up in Oslo, Norway, but have lived in the United States for many years. Although I like the temperate climate in Southern California, I do miss the changing seasons and snow. I discovered dermatology in my last year of medical school and was quickly intrigued by the field’s combination of diagnostic challenges and technical requirements. I really enjoy the variety of conditions I treat on a daily basis as well as performing surgery to remove skin cancers. Dermatology is an exciting field with active research that helps us understand and treat skin conditions better. I am co-chair at UC Irvine of grand rounds, which are meetings at which physicians discuss their cases, and I’m also on the Executive Board of the Pacific Dermatologic Association. I value my academic affiliations, as I find this to be a great way to stay current on the latest developments and allow for great interactions with colleagues at the university as well as in the private sector.
About my practice
When I go to a physician, I want someone who is caring, smart, efficient, and timely. I strive to be all these things every day to each of my patients. I think you’ll find we have a good team that works well together to make your experience in dermatology as positive as possible. I am happy to offer a full range of services, and I love doing small surgical procedures when needed. Ultimately, your well-being is my responsibility and I do not take it lightly.
How I thrive
I believe that the road to a sound mind and a sound body is through eating right and exercising regularly. Since I live by the beach, I like to hike and run along the shore and take in the beautiful scenery, watching the pelicans as they glide across the ocean. I also find a source of rejuvenation in doing yoga. Exercise that is enjoyable and challenging is my idea of a healthy lifestyle. I prefer to get my vitamins and minerals through eating nutritious fresh, preferably organic, foods to provide the best fuel for the cells to operate on. Every day, we have choices. Choosing what is good for my body and mind gives me the best chance to function optimally in order to help others.
