Welcome to my Web page! I hope this site gives you a better understanding of my practice here in Orange County, as well as glimpse at my personal interests, background, and view of my specialty.
Orange County is very dear to me. I was raised in Tustin and graduated from high school there. I was fortunate to receive my undergraduate and medical degrees from UC Irvine. I completed my four-year residency in obstetrics and gynecology, and was a faculty member at UC Irvine Medical Center before pursuing a four-year fellowship in gynecologic oncology at the same institution. I spent a year on the faculty in Portland at the Oregon Health & Sciences University. It was my experience there that made me realize that with the future challenges of medicine, the opportunity to practice my specialty was best served at Kaiser Permanente, which I joined in 2007. I could not be happier with my career decisions. I live well and stay balanced because of my family and, in particular, my wife who is my high school sweetheart. We have two wonderful children, and as I have grown as a physician over the years, they have each in their own way contributed to my growth as a person. They provide the inspiration and emotional stability that allow me to flourish in my professional and personal life.
I am board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology, as well as gynecologic oncology. Our team is focused on the surgical and chemotherapeutic treatment of all cancers related to the female reproductive tract—including ovarian, uterine, and cervical carcinomas. We are often involved in the most complex gynecologic surgeries, even if they do not involve a malignancy. It’s our philosophy that one physician needs to be the team captain and coordinate the surgical, chemotherapy, and behavioral aspects of care to achieve the best outcomes for women affected by gynecologic cancers. Our practice is member-centric with a multidisciplinary approach. We have extensive experience with minimally invasive surgery, including robotic procedures related to our specialty.
My friends and family have been the constant source of my drive to maintain the most positive attitude and passion for life. Every one of these individuals provides me with the balance in my life that allows me to better myself each day from a mental and physical point of view. I’m also an avid basketball fan and play regularly. I love reading science-fiction books and recently moved into historical novels. When it comes to music, anyone who knows me would think that I only listen to Bruce Springsteen—which is correct most of the time!
