Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page. Thank you for the opportunity to introduce myself, and share a bit about my ophthalmology practice. I enjoy working at Kaiser Permanente because it provides an opportunity to interact with knowledgeable and caring colleagues.
I am a second-generation Asian Indian who came to this country at the age of five. I have benefited from exposure to both American and Indian culture, and draw upon the best qualities of each as I care for my patients. I became an ophthalmologist because I enjoy performing delicate surgery on the eye. I chose pediatric ophthalmology because my passion is children’s health. It inspired me to pursue a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology. I also completed a fellowship in adult strabismus. Strabismus also known as heterotropia, a misalignment of the eyes that can cause double vision. In addition to my pediatric practice, I treat adults with this disorder. I travel to India to diagnose and operate on underserved children with eye conditions.
About my practice
Pediatric ophthalmology is my career and passion. A child’s wellbeing depends as much on the parents as the child. It’s very important to me that my young patients and their parents have an understanding of the diagnosis and treatment plan. I encourage parents to ask questions regarding their children’s eye condition, and to call me should additional concerns arise.
How I thrive
I enjoy triathlons, backpacking, day hiking, skiing, and snowboarding. I try to live an active lifestyle as part of my commitment to staying well mentally and physically. I enjoy the outdoors tremendously. It offers me a chance to be with my family, and appreciate the grandeur and beauty of our world.
