Medicare diabetes prevention program

The MDPP (Medicare Diabetes Prevention Program) is designed to help you make small, simple changes that promote healthier lifestyle habits such as long-term dietary changes, increased physical activity, and problem-solving techniques to overcome the challenges of maintaining weight loss.

A once-per-lifetime benefit per beneficiary, MDPP services are offered through a two-year program. This program is covered as additional preventive services and there is no coinsurance, copayment, or deductible. MDPP services are furnished by MDPP suppliers in person, during scheduled classes.

Medicare beneficiaries are eligible for MDPP services if they are pre-diabetic (according to clinical criteria such as BMI and blood test results), and have not been diagnosed with diabetes or end-stage renal disease.

These listings are for your information only. Please do not contact the suppliers directly. If you are interested in the MDPP, call your local Center for Healthy Living.
