About me
I grew up in Los Alamos, New Mexico, where I decided in high school that I wanted to practice medicine. After undergraduate study at Stanford and medical school at the University of California, Los Angeles, I ended up in Boston for residency training in otolaryngology — and in head and neck surgery — at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary/Harvard program. I did research in a head and neck cancer lab for 2 years during residency, investigating cancer cell death mechanisms in response to treatment with cisplatin, a chemotherapeutic. I then moved to Johns Hopkins, in Baltimore, for fellowship training in head and neck cancer surgery and reconstruction.
About my practice
It can sometimes be challenging for both of us, the doctor and the patient, to have a deeply meaningful encounter. Each person has unique needs, even when they have the same diagnosis as another. I work to bring the practice of mindfulness to the exam room. By working to be completely present, I aspire to meet my patients where they are and help them get where they need to go.
How I thrive
My husband and I have three boys who keep us busy. In my spare time, I love to read mystery thrillers, hike in the mountains, and keep up my skills at the piano with Beethoven sonatas. We are also devoted Stanford fans who root for the Cardinals when they come up to play their PAC-12 Oregon opponents!

Referrals to affiliated community physicians/providers in Oregon and Washington
Affiliated community physicians/providers are not part of the NWPMG (Northwest Permanente Medical Group). They are physicians/providers credentialed by Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of the Northwest and/or who have a contract with the NWPMG.
If your NWPMG physician decides that you require covered services not available internally from an NWPMG physician, he or she may refer you to an affiliated community physician/provider. You must have a written, authorized referral from Kaiser Permanente in order to receive a covered service from an affiliated community physician/provider.
Referrals to affiliated community dentists in Oregon and Washington
Affiliated community dentists are not part of PDA (Permanente Dental Associates). They are dentists credentialed by PDA for Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of the Northwest, and they have a contract with PDA.
If your PDA dentist decides that you require covered services not available internally from a PDA dentist, he or she may refer you to an affiliated community dentist. You must have a written, authorized referral from Kaiser Permanente in order to receive a covered service from an affiliated community dentist.
