About me
I grew up in California and Arizona, and completed my medical training in emergency medicine in San Diego. After so many years of education and training, I spent four years enjoying my freedom and working in various locations across the country including Hawaii, California, Virginia, and Oregon, as well as six months in New Zealand. After these adventures, I finally settled down in Portland with my husband. We enjoy the active lifestyle of the Northwest - hiking, snowboarding, biking - and also enjoy traveling as much as possible, which has only been slightly limited by the birth of our daughter, forcing our travels to be much shorter distance. I enjoy meeting new patients and hearing about their adventures every day I work in the Department of Emergency Medicine.
About my practice
I am privileged to work with a group of outstanding physicians in the Kaiser Permanente Department of Emergency Medicine, where we specialize in evaluating and treating acute illnesses and injuries. I believe in encouraging the patient and family to participate in the decision-making process and try to take the time to explain the symptoms and diagnoses to patients as clearly as possible to ensure that they remain a valuable partner in their own healthcare. Although at times this becomes difficult in the fast-paced world of emergency medicine, that challenge serves to make my job all the more challenging and rewarding.
How I thrive
I enjoy spending as much time as possible outdoors, which rejuvenates my spirit and clears my mind. My husband and I like to be active, enjoying activities such as hiking, biking and snowboarding, as well as surfing (although for me only in warmer waters than we have here in Oregon) and paddle boarding. It's not all about activity, however, as a quiet day reading in the park or on a beach and just enjoying the peace is also a favorite.

Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans’ contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of members’ KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.

Referrals to affiliated community physicians/providers in Oregon and Washington
Affiliated community physicians/providers are not part of the NWPMG (Northwest Permanente Medical Group). They are physicians/providers credentialed by Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of the Northwest and/or who have a contract with the NWPMG.
If your NWPMG physician decides that you require covered services not available internally from an NWPMG physician, he or she may refer you to an affiliated community physician/provider. You must have a written, authorized referral from Kaiser Permanente in order to receive a covered service from an affiliated community physician/provider.
Referrals to affiliated community dentists in Oregon and Washington
Affiliated community dentists are not part of PDA (Permanente Dental Associates). They are dentists credentialed by PDA for Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of the Northwest, and they have a contract with PDA.
If your PDA dentist decides that you require covered services not available internally from a PDA dentist, he or she may refer you to an affiliated community dentist. You must have a written, authorized referral from Kaiser Permanente in order to receive a covered service from an affiliated community dentist.
