Where I practice
Although I am a Portland native, I left the Pacific Northwest to pursue my undergraduate degree at the University of Southern California, in Los Angeles, followed by medical school at Washington University, in St. Louis, Missouri. I completed my residency and fellowship in Seattle and now am happy to call Portland home once again. I have always enjoyed the head-to-toe challenges of plastic and reconstructive surgery and especially appreciate the multidisciplinary nature of my field.
About my practice
As a plastic and reconstructive surgeon at Kaiser Permanente, I am fortunate to be part of an outstanding group of health-care providers who are committed to the reconstructive needs of our members in the Pacific Northwest. My philosophy towards medical care emphasizes a bilateral discussion between physician and patient in order to empower patients to feel involved in their health-care decisions. There are many possible solutions to any given challenge in plastic surgery, and patient education and involvement are critical to achieve an excellent outcome. I am a fully trained plastic surgeon with a particular interest in breast, head and neck, and trunk reconstruction. I also have sub-specialty training in extremity reconstruction and microvascular surgery.
How I thrive
I enjoy road-biking around the Portland area on an old Cannondale I still have from medical school. I am an avid traveler and backpacker and am working towards my goal of visiting every country on the planet (it's slow going!). I remain active physically and mentally with regular workouts and yoga sessions. I like to end the day with a home-cooked Indian meal.
