About me
I have worked in emergency and urgent care medicine for more than 40 years. I began my career in college when I took a part-time job as a clerk in the Emergency Department at the University of Chicago. I loved helping patients and loved the teamwork in emergency medicine. I continued my career advancement and worked as an ED tech, then a nurse, and finally went to medical school and became an emergency doctor. I worked for Kaiser Permanente in Northern California for many years and was the physician lead for emergency medicine where I oversaw 21 Kaiser Permanente emergency departments. After my children were settled in college this year, my husband and I were able to fulfill our dream of moving to the Pacific Northwest, and I am happy to join Kaiser Permanente Northwest.
About my practice
As an urgent care doctor, I am able to care for all types of patients, from newborns to the elderly. My approach is to listen to the patient and their family, and develop a treatment plan together. I also believe patients do better when they are cared for by a team, so everyone you encounter in my practice will be working to get you on the road to wellness. As a former emergency doctor, I am proficient in a number of procedures, including suturing lacerations. I love being a Kaiser Permanente clinician because every patient has a number of specialists available to help with care as needed. It truly is an integrated practice with a goal to get and keep you well.
How I thrive
My main source happiness is spending time with my family and friends — outdoors if possible! I have been married to my husband, Rich, for over 25 years and have 3 children: Jack, Maggie, and Emily. We also have 2 dogs: a silly basset hound named Larry and a rescue named Molly. We love to walk and take hikes. I also love to run, although I am very slow! We all love to travel and look forward to resuming international travel as the pandemic subsides. I also love to read and am taking a class with other adult learners to read the classics again. I am looking forward to exploring the Pacific Northwest and all it has to offer.

Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans’ contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of members’ KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.

Referrals to affiliated community physicians/providers in Oregon and Washington
Affiliated community physicians/providers are not part of the NWPMG (Northwest Permanente Medical Group). They are physicians/providers credentialed by Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of the Northwest and/or who have a contract with the NWPMG.
If your NWPMG physician decides that you require covered services not available internally from an NWPMG physician, he or she may refer you to an affiliated community physician/provider. You must have a written, authorized referral from Kaiser Permanente in order to receive a covered service from an affiliated community physician/provider.
Referrals to affiliated community dentists in Oregon and Washington
Affiliated community dentists are not part of PDA (Permanente Dental Associates). They are dentists credentialed by PDA for Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of the Northwest, and they have a contract with PDA.
If your PDA dentist decides that you require covered services not available internally from a PDA dentist, he or she may refer you to an affiliated community dentist. You must have a written, authorized referral from Kaiser Permanente in order to receive a covered service from an affiliated community dentist.
