About me
Biography
I am originally from Ireland and come from a family with deep roots in music and dance, though I did not inherit much talent in either. When I was young, my family relocated to Las Vegas, where I spent most of my youth riding horses, training, competing, and earning several state championships in the hunter/jumper discipline. Along the way, injuries from riding and other sports introduced me to the world of orthopedics and sports medicine, sparking a lasting interest in the field. This interest, combined with a natural inclination toward science, ultimately led me to pursue a career in medicine.
About my practice
After completing my residency at Oregon Health & Science University, I pursued fellowship training in sports medicine at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. After completing my fellowship, I moved back to Portland and practiced sports medicine. My practice focuses on the nonsurgical treatment of musculoskeletal injuries in patients of all ages, with extensive experience in managing concussions and chronic spine pain.
Although I have worked with both amateur and professional athletes across a variety of sports, most of my patients are not striving for peak performance or a return to ultra-endurance events. They are individuals seeking to move through their daily lives without pain. I take a holistic approach to care, considering not only the injury or diagnosis, but also the broader factors that may delay recovery. I value collaboration with a range of specialists, including physical therapists, massage therapists, acupuncturists, and chiropractors. In addition, I utilize diagnostic ultrasound and perform ultrasound-guided injections when appropriate.
Whether a patient’s goal is to finish the final game of the season, or maintain an active lifestyle, each journey is unique. My role is to partner with patients and guide them toward a lasting recovery.
How I thrive
I love living in the Pacific Northwest and try to take advantage of all it has to offer. Slowing down and making time for family and friends is essential to me. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, cooking, baking, exploring wineries, reading, listening to music, and anything that involves nature and wildlife.

Referrals to affiliated community physicians/providers in Oregon and Washington
Affiliated community physicians/providers are not part of the NWPMG (Northwest Permanente Medical Group). They are physicians/providers credentialed by Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of the Northwest and/or who have a contract with the NWPMG.
If your NWPMG physician decides that you require covered services not available internally from an NWPMG physician, he or she may refer you to an affiliated community physician/provider. You must have a written, authorized referral from Kaiser Permanente in order to receive a covered service from an affiliated community physician/provider.
Referrals to affiliated community dentists in Oregon and Washington
Affiliated community dentists are not part of PDA (Permanente Dental Associates). They are dentists credentialed by PDA for Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of the Northwest, and they have a contract with PDA.
If your PDA dentist decides that you require covered services not available internally from a PDA dentist, he or she may refer you to an affiliated community dentist. You must have a written, authorized referral from Kaiser Permanente in order to receive a covered service from an affiliated community dentist.
