Where I practice
Growing up on a family farm in North Carolina, I developed a deep love for nature. I met my wife, a native Oregonian and outdoor enthusiast, while I was working as a health coach and researcher for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s primary care clinic. We moved to Roanoke, Virginia, for medical school and enjoyed hiking, biking, and skiing the Blue Ridge Mountains in our free time. We were blessed with a son and daughter and enjoyed raising them close to my family while I completed my family medicine residency in my home town. I have been drawn to family medicine since the beginning of my training for the broad scope of medicine it allows me practice and the joy I feel in helping people of all ages.
About my practice
After residency, our family moved to Salt Lake City, where I completed a fellowship in sports medicine at the University of Utah. There I received advanced training in non-surgical treatment of musculoskeletal conditions and other exercise-related problems. I gained a broad range of sport coverage experiences and enjoyed providing care to athletes of all ages and abilities. Being able to explore Utah’s beautiful National Parks and teach our kids to ski in Park City on the weekends was a wonderful bonus! We are happy now to live in the Pacific Northwest — closer to my wife’s family. I’m excited to have the opportunity to practice both family medicine and sports medicine and look forward to helping patients enjoy healthy, active lives.
How I thrive
My family and I try to take full advantage of all life has to offer. We love traveling and exploring both locally and abroad; we are always excited to meet new people and try new adventures. We are blessed to have wonderful supportive friends and family on both the east and west coasts and enjoy spending time with them as often as possible.
