I was born in Buffalo, New York, and have subsequently lived in Delaware, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, California, and Oregon. After college, while working as a management consultant, I decided to change career paths to become a physician — one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I enjoy working as part of a team to solve complex problems in the office and the operating room, and orthopedic surgery and sports medicine are a natural fit for me. I've had the privilege of caring for athletes as an assistant team physician for various high schools, the University of Michigan, Stanford University, and the Golden State Warriors. My wife, a pediatrician, and I love exploring the Pacific Northwest.
I became an orthopedic surgeon to help patients overcome injury, return to activity, and improve their quality of life. Having completed subspecialty training in sports medicine, my practice focuses on the arthroscopic treatment of acute and chronic conditions of the knee, shoulder, hip, and elbow. While some injuries or conditions may be treated with a non-operative multidisciplinary approach, others require surgery. I strive to educate patients about all of their treatment options and help them navigate through this complex decision-making process to choose a treatment that best fits their goals, expectations, and lifestyle.
In our spare time, my wife and I enjoy running, cooking, hiking, playing tennis, and traveling internationally. I’m also an avid fan of the Buffalo Bills and Boston Red Sox. At home, as at work, I enjoy challenging myself to achieve better outcomes — whether I’m trying to perfect my pizza dough, work on my tennis serve, or improve my times on favorite running routes.
