About me

I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. After some traveling, I realized there is no place I would rather be. I have always been an intuitive and introspective person, even as a child, making the mental health profession a natural fit. I strongly believe that the environment we live in and the people around us are very important contributors to our mental health, and can be strong assets in moving toward balance and wellness. This belief drove me to pursue an education in couples and family therapy.

About my practice

In my role as a child and family therapist for Kaiser Permanente, I work with teens and children under the age of 18 and their families. The majority of my members reside with their parents or an adult care provider. I firmly believe in an approach which involves assessment of all aspects of my members’ lives including the home, school, work, and community environments. I work with members to identify how these environments may contribute to their presenting issue or how they may be an asset to their wellness. I have experience working with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, oppositional children, grief, anger management, parent-child conflict, family stress, suicidal ideation, self-harm/maladaptive coping strategies and more. I primarily work from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or Dialectical Behavior Therapy approach. I have training in Collaborative Problem Solving and Child-Centered Play Therapy and am very flexible in my approach.

How I thrive

I spend my free time hiking, cooking and spending time with my family, friends, and dog. I enjoy planning events and bringing people together over shared interests. I also need down time and am known to take personal time by going for a walk around one of Portland's neighborhoods.
