About me
I grew up in Southampton, England and emigrated to Louisiana as a teenager. After attending the University of Colorado and getting a bachelor's degree in biochemistry, I was accepted to medical school at Louisiana State University in Shreveport. I developed an interest in internal medicine while at LSU, especially taking care of the hospitalized patients. I was accepted to the Oregon Health and Sciences University Internal Medicine Residency Program, where I met my wife who was also a resident in the program. We now both practice hospital based medicine at Kaiser Permanente and alternate our schedules so that we can take care of our son who was born in 2010.
About my practice
As a hospitalist, our goal is to provide excellent, compassionate, and efficient care for hospitalized patients. The inpatient team achieves this purpose by providing acute care to medical patients; by offering timely consultation for hospitalized patients on other services; and providing admitting and consulting services for Emergency Department patients. We also work to facilitate the transition of care between inpatient and outpatient settings and to ensure that all the necessary information is transmitted to your primary care physician and specialists.
How I thrive
In order to be both mentally and physically healthy, I try to get regular exercise, especially in a form that allows me to experience the beautiful Pacific Northwest. In the warmer months I enjoy cycling, running and hiking. In the winter I try to go snowboarding. I also make it a point to see my close friends and family on a regular basis and travel as often as possible.

Referrals to affiliated community physicians/providers in Oregon and Washington
Affiliated community physicians/providers are not part of the NWPMG (Northwest Permanente Medical Group). They are physicians/providers credentialed by Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of the Northwest and/or who have a contract with the NWPMG.
If your NWPMG physician decides that you require covered services not available internally from an NWPMG physician, he or she may refer you to an affiliated community physician/provider. You must have a written, authorized referral from Kaiser Permanente in order to receive a covered service from an affiliated community physician/provider.
Referrals to affiliated community dentists in Oregon and Washington
Affiliated community dentists are not part of PDA (Permanente Dental Associates). They are dentists credentialed by PDA for Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of the Northwest, and they have a contract with PDA.
If your PDA dentist decides that you require covered services not available internally from a PDA dentist, he or she may refer you to an affiliated community dentist. You must have a written, authorized referral from Kaiser Permanente in order to receive a covered service from an affiliated community dentist.
