Where I practice
My career started after graduate school when I took a job in the laboratory as a molecular biologist involved in drug development research. As my career evolved, I found myself wanting more direct patient care. With that goal in mind, I returned to nursing school and then practiced in various roles for a decade before becoming a nurse anesthetist. I find it a joy to serve my patients and give them the compassion and respect that they deserve during what might be a stressful time in their lives. A native of Portland, I was excited to return with my husband and two children in 2010. As a family, we enjoy running, hiking, snowboarding, and bike riding and are happy to call the beautiful Pacific Northwest home.
About my practice
I am a member of the anesthesia team at Kaiser Permanente. Our staff works together to ensure that you are safe and comfortable throughout your surgical experience. It is our goal that each aspect of your visit be as pleasant as possible. I believe that each patient deserves the best care, and I strive to treat every patient as a unique individual and provide a level of compassion and attention that I would like for my own family members.
How I thrive
Balance is something that helps me thrive, despite life’s ups and downs. I do my best to be a role model for my kids by showing them ways to balance the things they enjoy in the world with life’s responsibilities. I believe that by building a support structure of family and friends along with my personal interests, I am able to thrive and live life to its fullest. I try to incorporate a variety of activities to keep balance within my life including running, hiking, volunteering in my community, and spending time with my children.
