About me
I was born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, as a first-generation Asian American. I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Central Florida (before we were great at football) and finished medical school and residency at the University of South Florida, in Tampa. I spent many of those years volunteering with the local LGBT community and working as an HIV tester/counselor. While completing a residency in internal medicine, I focused mostly on medical student education and quality improvement.
About my practice
As a hospitalist, a physician who treats people exclusively in the hospital, I treat various acute medical illnesses, as well as coordinate care among sub-specialists, for members admitted to the hospital. A hospital stay can be scary and confusing at times, and my goals are to validate those fears and questions, and to communicate with honesty and transparency. I believe that though a hospital stay may be brief, it affords an opportunity to further educate and empower members to take charge of their health.
How I thrive
Work-life balance is very important to me. On my days off, I enjoy spending time with my two young nephews and my Siberian husky, Zuko. Much of my time is devoted to family and food (and my dog!). I love cooking and traveling; I stay physically fit by religiously going to the gym in order to serve those two passions. I value mentally winding down at the end of the work day by watching a healthy dose of Netflix or Hulu and visiting one of our local dog parks.

Referrals to affiliated community physicians/providers in Oregon and Washington
Affiliated community physicians/providers are not part of the NWPMG (Northwest Permanente Medical Group). They are physicians/providers credentialed by Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of the Northwest and/or who have a contract with the NWPMG.
If your NWPMG physician decides that you require covered services not available internally from an NWPMG physician, he or she may refer you to an affiliated community physician/provider. You must have a written, authorized referral from Kaiser Permanente in order to receive a covered service from an affiliated community physician/provider.
Referrals to affiliated community dentists in Oregon and Washington
Affiliated community dentists are not part of PDA (Permanente Dental Associates). They are dentists credentialed by PDA for Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of the Northwest, and they have a contract with PDA.
If your PDA dentist decides that you require covered services not available internally from a PDA dentist, he or she may refer you to an affiliated community dentist. You must have a written, authorized referral from Kaiser Permanente in order to receive a covered service from an affiliated community dentist.
