Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page! My name is William K. Kim. I mention the middle initial because I share the same name with a few other health care professionals. I joined Kaiser Permanente because I truly believe that it provides high-quality care for members. I believe that healthy eating, exercise, and stress management are the best ways for a long, healthy, and prosperous life. For your urologic needs, I am here to help.
I was born in Northern California and spent majority of my childhood in the Bay Area. I graduated from UCLA and completed my medical school training at State University of New York, Stony Brook University. I became a doctor to help others. I previously worked as an EMT, medical assistant, and research coordinator, and through all my experiences, the most rewarding were taking care of patients. At Stony Brook, I discovered an interest for urology due to my excellent mentors and the wide breadth of the urology field. I completed my urologic training at UC Irvine. My hobbies include outdoor activities (hiking, camping, fishing), sports (golf, basketball, trying rock climbing), and cooking, among others.
About my practice
After completing my training, I have the privilege to remain in Orange County at Kaiser Permanente in Irvine. I have a general urology practice with a focus on kidney stones. General urology includes urinary problems, prostate problems, urinary infection and incontinence, urologic cancers, and erectile dysfunction.
How I thrive
In order to maintain a healthy and productive lifestyle, I try to maintain a low-inflammation diet and interval exercise routine. I find it crucial to allow the mind to relax and refocus. I find meditation to be an excellent tool for mindfulness. I also have a dog who helps with my stress and exercise routine.
