Where I practice
Hello! Welcome to my Kaiser Permanente Web page. I hope this page serves as a brief introduction of myself and allows you to learn a bit about me before we meet!
I grew up in Kansas and have lived all over the country during the course of my training. I am a proud Duke University alumni and went to the University of Kansas for medical school. I completed my general surgery residency at UC Davis and my complex and general surgical oncology fellowship at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. I am board certified in both specialties, and I enjoy working with members in both disciplines. I believe that being a physician and surgeon is one of the most profound privileges in medicine!
About my practice
Communication is key. An important part of my practice is providing all the information to members so they and their family members can make the best choices for their own health. I also am a firm believer in the multidisciplinary approach to patients with complex surgical and oncological problems. I work with a great team: other surgeons, physicians of other specialties, registered nurses, and support staff!
How I thrive
Balance in life is key for people in any profession, and I try to adhere to that principle in my own life. In my time off I am likely to be outside. I enjoy running and exercise. I love travelling and experiencing new things. And of course, I love to eat!
