Where I practice
About me
I am a board-certified medical oncologist specializing in hematology and oncology at Kaiser Permanente’s Riverside Medical Center. It is my privilege to help guide you through your care. I collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop personalized treatment plans that incorporate the latest medical advancements. I am honored to be a part of your care team and am committed to supporting your physical well-being with compassion and high-quality care.
Biography
I completed my internal medicine residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in geriatrics at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. I then served as an assistant professor of clinical medicine and director of the geriatrics curriculum at Southern Illinois University in Springfield, Illinois. To further pursue my passion for cancer care, I completed a medical oncology fellowship at the Quillen College of Medicine at East Tennessee State University. After my fellowship, I served as an assistant professor of hematology/oncology at the UC San Francisco School of Medicine. I have since relocated to Riverside County and am proud to serve our members at Kaiser Permanente.
About my practice
As a medical oncologist, I care for members from diagnosis through treatment and survivorship, including supportive and palliative care. I work closely with radiation oncologists, surgeons, pharmacists, nurses, therapists, and social workers, using a team approach to treat the whole person, not just the disease. Our care is grounded in medicine that is based on evidence and current research, and we offer educational seminars and support groups to further empower our members.
Cancer Subspecialty Focus
While I treat all types of cancer and benign hematologic conditions, my subspecialty focus includes head and neck cancers, gastrointestinal cancers, breast cancer, genitourinary cancers, lung cancer and thymoma, cutaneous malignancies, thyroid and endocrine cancers, and complex and malignant hematologic disorders. As a core member of the multidisciplinary Head and Neck Tumor Board, I help refine treatment strategies for complex and rare cancers.
National Expertise on Multidisciplinary Teams
I am an active contributor to the Southern California Regional Head and Neck Subspecialty Committee, where I help evaluate emerging therapies and guide updates to the Kaiser Permanente Oncology Care Pathways. This work helps ensure that our members receive care aligned with the latest evidence and research and with best practices.
Research and Clinical Trials
I participate in clinical research as a sub-investigator through the National Cancer Institute’s Community Oncology Research Program (NCORP). I collaborate with national research groups including SWOG Cancer Research Network, the National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project (NSABP), the Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology, and NRG Oncology. Through this work, I help advance cancer treatments and improve outcomes.
How I thrive
I thrive by maintaining a balanced life that includes meaningful work, family, and recreation. I enjoy listening to music, cooking, and traveling with family and friends. These activities help me stay grounded and bring joy to my life outside of medicine.
