Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page! I am a pediatric hematologist oncologist with practices at both the Downey and Anaheim medical centers. I feel fortunate to belong to an outstanding team of physicians, nurses, social workers, pharmacists, child life specialists, and clinic staff.
I was born in the beautiful and historic country of Iran. My family moved to Southern California in 1987, when I was 15 years old. I maintain passion for my cultural heritage while defining my identity as an American. The road to becoming a physician led me through some of the most beautiful parts of the country, where I was privileged to study under some of the best scientists and physicians in the world. Initially it was intellectual curiosity that attracted me to hematology and oncology, but a clinical rotation as a medical student brought me close to children who suffer from blood diseases and cancer. It was their courage, strength, and sense of optimism that I found inspiring. I consider myself blessed with a career in which I can help such incredible children and their families.
About my practice
I love what I do, and take pride in my efforts to offer my patients high-quality, advanced health care. I enjoy great relationships with my colleagues in other specialties. We hold biweekly meetings to discuss treatment plans for our patients. Many of us are active members of national organizations, such as the American Society of Hematology and the Children's Oncology Group.
How I thrive
Humans are healthiest when they balance mind, body, and spirit. Outside of work, my priority is my children. When I am not managing their busy social calendar, I like to do yoga, and I enjoy running.
