About me

Hello, and welcome to my Web page. As a physician and a Kaiser Permanente member myself, I am glad to have the opportunity to tell you a little about who I am. Having lived all over this country at various stages in my life, I can attest to how truly special our health care organization is. I feel lucky to work with such a collegial group of physicians whose shared goal is to deliver high-quality care to our members.

Biography

My parents are from China, but I was born in Taiwan. My family moved to the United States when I was five, and I grew up in Savannah, Georgia. I went to both college and medical school in New York City, the former being where I met my husband. So, at heart, I am a Southern girl, but I have the spirit of the city in my veins. I did my neurosurgical training in Boston and was in practice there for four years before we moved to California to be closer to my parents. With my husband, who is also a physician, I am raising three delightful children.

About my practice

There are five board-certified neurosurgeons, including myself, and a licensed nurse practitioner comprising our neurosurgery team. We are strongly supported by dedicated inpatient and clinic staff. The background and training of our surgeons carry great breadth as well as depth. We maintain a very encouraging environment, and work as a team in the management of complex and challenging neurosurgical problems, ranging from cranial and spinal tumors, neurovascular entities treated by surgery and interventional radiology, degenerative spine disease, and congenital anomalies.

How I thrive

I believe in the Kaiser Permanente philosophy of health in body, mind, and spirit, and I try to live it in my life. Working long hours must count. I confess that my favorite hobby is eating. I am the picture of health, just not its poster child!
