Where I practice
Hello, and welcome to my Web page! I hope that the information here will help you get to know more about me and my nephrology practice.
I was born and raised in Hawaii and first left the islands to attend college on the East Coast. I returned to attend medical school at the University of Hawaii and then left again to complete my medical residency and fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. After a year in private practice in Honolulu, I moved to Southern California to raise my family and practice medicine with Kaiser Permanente.
About my practice
I have been a nephrologist here since 2001. My primary responsibility is to help diagnose and care for patients with a wide range of medical conditions relating to their kidneys. These include chronic kidney disease, kidney stones, and complex hypertension. I also take care of patients with kidney failure who require dialysis or who have had kidney transplants. I am supported in this role by a team that includes nurses, a pharmacist, a dietician, social workers, case managers, and other support staff all of whom are dedicated to providing outstanding patient care.
How I thrive
I thrive by keeping a balanced life between work and home. I make it a point to spend as much quality time with my family as possible. In addition, I do my best to set a good example for my patients by eating a healthy diet, exercising, and seeing my own primary care physician on a regular basis.
