Welcome to my Web page. I am glad to have this chance to introduce myself and my practice. My goal is to provide our members the best medical care possible.
The primary reason I became a doctor is because I wanted to help people. I wanted to be able to make a difference in people's lives, and practicing medicine gives me that opportunity. I received my medical degree from the University of Medicine, Mandalay, Myanmar. I completed my internship and residency in internal medicine in New York City, and moved to California afterwards. I worked as a hospitalist (treating patients who have been admitted to the hospital) before practicing as a primary care physician. The reason I switched to primary care is because I believe in continuity care and preventative care, which are the keys to help members achieve the best health. I feel fortunate to be part of Kaiser Permanente, an organization that provides quality health care to its members and supports the philosophy of health in body, mind, and spirit.
Medicine as a career provides a special opportunity to connect and help people in meaningful way, utilizing medical skills and knowledge in addition to listening and responding to their needs. Being a doctor requires trust and confidence from patients to be able to share with me their hopes and fears. It is a privilege to help patients understand what concerns them, facilitate the appropriate evaluation, and explain to them and their families. I am honored that patients have entrusted me with their care and strive to treat them as I would my own family.
I believe that an active lifestyle and positive attitude are important for good health. I enjoy traveling, cooking, shopping, reading, and, most importantly, spending time with my family.
