Hi, I'm Dr. Teri Pusheck. My specialty is otolaryngology or head and neck surgery—I treat ear, nose, and throat disorders as well as related conditions of the head and neck. I’ve been with Kaiser Permanente at the Woodland Hills Medical Center since 2000.
I’m from Rockford, Illinois—a great place to grow up, where I learned the value of hard work. I was always very active—playing sports, riding bikes, and enjoying the great outdoors. I was also very curious—I collected bugs, read the encyclopedia, etc. I always loved science and learning, but I didn’t always want to be a doctor—I remember wanting to be a rock star or an athlete as a kid. In college, I majored in biology and psychology with a minor in philosophy. I eventually pursued medical school, thinking I would become a psychiatrist. But when I was exposed to surgery—especially head and neck surgery—I found my calling. I love what I do. I was finally able to leave the ice and snow of the Midwest when I came to Los Angeles for my residency at UCLA.
I enjoy treating the variety of medical and surgical problems. I see a variety of members—from kid who needs his tonsils out to an adult member with a nose full of polyps to an elderly member with hearing loss. I feel very fortunate to work at Kaiser Permanente, where I can easily consult with my fellow specialists, if needed. My members can get great care across the spectrum all in one location.
I love to bike and have been very active in past years with Aids/LifeCycle—a seven-day ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles in support of AIDS awareness and research. I try to ride several times per week—either road or mountain biking. I also hike many places here in Los Angeles. I travel regularly and love to explore by foot, bike, train, or boat. I’ve been to Peru, Australia, Spain, Ecuador, Galapagos, and Costa Rica, to name a few. I have hopes to visit Africa, Argentina, India, and Thailand, and a few others. I also look forward to traveling and incorporating my talents into medical care trips in the future.
