About me
Welcome to my home page. I look forward to meeting you in the near future.
Biography
I grew up in Southern California and was a patient at Kaiser Permanente as well. Being nearsighted had a big impact on my career path, as I went to my optometrist every year during my middle school and high school days. For college, I decided to go to Northern California and I ended up graduating from UC Berkeley. After four and a half years in beautiful Northern California, I decided I wanted to come back home to Los Angeles to be close to family. I went to optometry school at Southern California College of Optometry and worked for an ophthalmologist for several years and at the county hospital before coming to Kaiser Permanente.
About my practice
I really love my patients and am concerned about their well-being. That's why I enjoy working for Kaiser Permanente, where I get to see each member’s big picture. I am an avid educator about the relationship between health and eyes, and I'm not afraid to let members know what they need to do to live well. When I worked at the county hospital, I got to see firsthand the devastation that diseases such as diabetes and hypertension had on people's vision. That's when I started working with patients with reduced or low vision to help them with the proper glasses, magnifiers, and other devices. I also believe that an eye examination is so much more than just a prescription for glasses, and I enjoy working in a primary eye care setting where I not only get to fit contact lenses, but diagnose and manage eye problems as well.
How I thrive
I'll be honest—I don't like to exercise, but I do it so that I can live well for myself and my family. So even though I hate getting up early, I try to make it to my gym at least three times a week, and I also enjoy taking yoga classes when I can. I also try to eat as clean as possible. In my spare time, I am active at my children's schools and also at my church. It's important for me to be both physically and spiritually whole. I also enjoy spending time with my husband and my 3 kids, who keep me busy.
