Hello, and thank you for visiting my Web page. I enjoy working at Kaiser Permanente with my wonderful colleagues and meeting our members. It is very important that children and their parents feel comfortable with me as their pediatrician, so I hope this page will allow you to know me better.
I was born in Oregon but moved to Southern California when I was only three. I was raised here in San Diego and graduated from Mount Carmel High School. Until high school, I was sure I was going to be a veterinarian. As much as I still love animals, that desire evolved into a goal of giving care to humans instead. College took me to UC Riverside for a biomedical sciences degree and then to UCLA for medical school. My husband and I met on our first day of college, and we shared all of the joys and stresses of earning the same degrees, completing medical school together, and getting married during our residency years. We have different specialties but share a love of medicine, reading, our two cats, and our daughter and son.
About my practice
The calling to become a pediatrician reached me during my first rotation in pediatrics when I was in medical school. I strive to help children and their parents achieve and maintain a healthy lifestyle. I use my medical skills and knowledge to listen to concerns, explain what needs to be conveyed, and get to know the children so that I can better aid them when they are ill. It is an honor to be part of people's lives.
How I thrive
In our two-physician household, we try to maintain a healthy lifestyle, giving as much attention to the mind as well as the body. We enjoy time with our two large extended families and have traveled to many wonderful places, but we most value the quiet time we have together to read, relax, work on our home, and spend time with our kids. We also try to live as green a lifestyle as we can.
