About me

Hello, and welcome to my Web page. My practice provides occupational health services here at the Kaiser Permanente Carson Medical Offices. I know that workers' compensation can be challenging and confusing. My hope and goal is that my staff and I can navigate you through the process back to health.

Biography

I grew up in Southern California and knew that I always wanted to live in San Francisco. I was fortunate enough to be accepted into medical school at UC San Francisco and was able to live in the city by the bay. Although I really enjoyed the quality of life in San Francisco, I missed my family. When my son was born, my husband and I decided that we wanted to try to live closer to family and we moved back to Southern California in 2011.

About my practice

Workers' compensation is a medical-legal system separate from a patient's medical health plan governed by laws established by the state of California. This can create a lot of confusion for the injured worker. Because of the complexity of the system, our clinic has a team to help navigate you through this process. My colleagues and I work with our case manager and claims processors. Our team works with your adjuster from the insurance company and utilization review physicians in order to get your treatment authorized. In workers' compensation, we need to follow evidenced-based guidelines for treatment recommendations. This authorization may take up to seven business days, so please be patient with the process. Please also understand that work is therapeutic and my goal is to keep you be as functional as possible, so I always try to make protective work restrictions to allow you to remain engaged in work, but not to overdo it.

How I thrive

I thrive by biking to the beach with my family and trying to keep up with my two sons. I try to spend as much time with my family and friends so I can stay refreshed for my patients at work. I really enjoy travelling, but my international travel has slowed down now that I have a little one who isn't that great with time changes. I know we'll get back to it soon!
