Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page. It is nice to have an opportunity to share some information about our clinic and myself with you.
I, like many others, found myself in San Diego after serving in the United States Navy. I grew up in Tennessee. After medical school, I joined the Navy. After completing a residency at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, Virginia, I spent a year at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and then completed a fellowship in urogynecology in New Orleans. My wife and I have two wonderful children.
About my practice
Ours was the first urogynecology clinic in the Kaiser Permanente health care organization. We have a strong academic background. We've participated in two programs sponsored by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) that were developed to advance the care of women with pelvic floor disorders. In addition, the clinic shares with UC San Diego one of the few board-approved fellowship programs in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery in California. Our clinic very proud that our physicians providers have been board certified in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery by the boards of urology and ob/gyn. This is the first year that board certification has become available. All our physicians have also completed fellowship training in this field. Our clinical staff has many years of experience caring for women with pelvic floor disorders, so please let us know your concerns and do not be embarrassed to share these issues with us.
How I thrive
I tend to work too hard, but I do enjoying spending time with my family, including an occasional trip to the mountains, beach or around the country.
