About me

Hello, my name is Dr. Sandra Inkyung Baik. I’m glad to have the opportunity to present my credentials to you and share some information about myself. It’s very important to me that you feel comfortable with your personal physician, and I hope this page will help you get to know me better.

Biography

I’m from Los Angeles and speak Spanish, helping me connect with a diverse range of patients and families. From a very young age, I knew I wanted to be a doctor. My passion for medicine started when I was just 5 years old, with my favorite toy being a doctor’s kit.

Growing up in a family of physicians, including my dad and sister, I was constantly inspired by their dedication. My dad has been my biggest inspiration. I vividly remember an incident when I was 10 years old — he jumped over a row of seats to help an elderly lady in distress, a moment that deeply impacted me and solidified my desire to follow in his footsteps.

In my professional role, I specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) and oversee quality improvement and chlamydia screening for our department. Additionally, I serve as the flu vaccination advocate for the Montebello Medical Offices Pediatrics Department, working to promote public health and ensure that our community is protected.

Outside of work, I’m an avid K-pop fan and have had the pleasure of attending many K-pop concerts. This hobby brings me joy and allows me to unwind and connect with my interests beyond the medical field.

About my practice

I love kids, and taking care of them is truly an honor and privilege. Being able to support their growth, health, and development brings me immense joy and fulfillment. My patients and their families are at the heart of everything I do, and building strong relationships with them is incredibly rewarding. Working alongside my dedicated colleagues enhances my practice, as we share a common goal of providing high-quality care. Kaiser Permanente’s system allows us to work together to provide comprehensive and coordinated care. This approach makes my work more efficient and effective, allowing me to focus on what I love most — helping kids lead healthy, happy lives.

How I thrive

I play tennis 5 days a week and am part of a league team, which keeps me active and competitive. Whether I'm spending time with my kids or smashing balls on the tennis court, these moments help me stay balanced and energized. Improving my language skills is another passion of mine. I've been practicing Spanish on Duolingo for over a year, and I’m also working on my Korean. These efforts not only enrich my personal growth but also help me connect with a broader range of patients and families, making me a more effective and compassionate healthcare provider.
