Welcome to my Web page. As a pediatrician, I firmly believe in the significant impact of a strong partnership and relationship with parents of each child. An early and strong partnership with parents allows them to share with me a bond of emotional development and growth, gradually formed, with their child. By sharing such valuable information, such as observations of child behavior and development in various social and psychological settings, I have the opportunity to walk beside each parent on their journey of providing quality healthcare for their children.
I was born and raised in Balanga City, Philippines as the eldest of six children. Through the years, challenges and hardships (especially with young siblings to look after and care for) helped shape my values and form character and a strong foundation to provide care for children. I graduated from University of Santo Tomas Medicine and Surgery in 1994 and completed my pediatric residency training from the Hospital of the Infant Jesus in 1998. I became a diplomate of the Philippine Pediatrics Society and had my own private practice for six years. In 2005, I met the love of my life and immigrated to United States. Years later, we were blessed with two beautiful daughters.
About my practice
My love for pediatrics prompted me to pursue another pediatric residency training at Texas Tech University Health Science Center where I served as chief resident. I was awarded distinguished resident awards for 2011 and 2013. I was the recipient of 2012-13 American Pediatric Society scholarship program. My ultimate goal is better health for all. Primary care involves preventive care, helping to resolve health problems, and participating in community activities that will enhance everybody's well-being.
How I thrive
Creating a balanced life makes me calm and enables me to effectively deal with various challenges in life. I make sure I spend quality time with my topmost priority − my family. I do brisk walking and Zumba as my form of daily exercise and encourage everyone in the family to eat healthy. I love to watch movies, play with my kids, and travel.
