Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page. I am an infectious disease physician at Kaiser Permanente in San Diego.
I am originally from the Midwest but have enjoyed living in San Diego since 2003. Before joining Kaiser Permanente in 2010, I was a member of the infectious disease faculty at UC San Diego. My wife also works at Kaiser Permanente and our son was born at a Kaiser Permanente hospital, so we are a Kaiser Permanente family!
About my practice
The infectious disease group for Kaiser Permanente in San Diego is made up of a team that includes physicians, nurses, pharmacists, social workers, and others. We also have access to resources that help us care for members. We provide specialized care for most types of infectious diseases, including HIV. I have a personal interest in clinical microbiology as well as infections that affect solid organ transplants (such as heart, lungs, liver, and kidneys). In addition, I am heavily involved in the Antibiotic Stewardship Program.
How I thrive
I believe that a healthy mind, body, and spirit are the cornerstones on which to build your day and your life. I try to exercise at least 3 to 4 times per week. I enjoy practicing Brazilian jiu-jitsu and otherwise trying to stay active. Chances are that I'll be asking you about ways in which you stay fit and have suggestions if you need some ideas. I look forward to participating in your health care.
