About me
Hello, my name is Dr. Shenoy. I am a Kaiser Permanente physician who specializes in infectious diseases here in the Antelope Valley. While my specialty may sound a little scary, most of the time my department simply deals with stubborn infections where standard treatments haven’t proven to be effective. Unfortunately, the wide use of antibiotics has led to new, resistant strains of many common infections. We treat these problems along with diseases such as HIV, hepatitis, and valley fever.
Biography
I come from India, where my parents were both physicians. They were my inspiration for entering the field of medicine. I was fortunate enough to study medicine at Kasturba Medical School, Mangalore, which is ranked in the top 10 percent of medical schools in India. I decided to immigrate to America to take advantage of the many opportunities available in this country. I served my internship and residency at Christ Hospital and Medical Center in Illinois and then went on to serve my fellowship in infectious diseases at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. I was not a big fan of Midwest winters, so after fulfilling my training obligations, I sought the sunshine of Southern California. I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2011 because I believe in its philosophy of focusing on prevention and am honored to be part of a member-centered environment.
About my practice
I have been in practice since 2002. While I love to meet new members, to avoid being referred to my department, I encourage everyone to get essential immunizations and avoid the unnecessary use of antibiotics. For those who do need our help, I am happy to see you. I treat every member with empathy and respect. Working together we will find the most effective approach to addressing your infection and help you feel better.
How I thrive
Being married with three young children, I treasure the time we spend together as a family. My husband and I have been married for many years. Our common passion is helping women and children’s charities, both in the United States and in India where the need is greater. We enjoy traveling and have explored many corners of the world. Someday, we hope to visit Australia. Personally, I stay healthy by swimming, exercising regularly, and maintaining a balanced diet.
