About me

Thank you for stopping by to learn a little more about me. I believe some of the most important moments in medicine happen through connection, trust, and understanding. Whether in the clinic or outside of work, my favorite title is "Mom," though members are welcome to call me Dr. K, Dr. Khanna or Rachna.

Biography

My path to medicine wasn't entirely straightforward. Before medical school, I worked for Los Angeles County as an epidemiologist and previously as a clinical trials coordinator. While I enjoyed the science and public health aspects of the work, I found myself missing the personal connections that come from caring directly for patients.

I was also inspired by my father, a pulmonologist, whose confidence in medicine's ability to improve lives left a lasting impression on me. Neurology ultimately became my calling because it focuses on the system that connects us to the world and to each other. Today, I'm involved in multiple sclerosis awareness initiatives and Women in Neurology support groups, both of which reflect my commitment to patient advocacy and education.

About my practice

One of the most meaningful aspects of neurology is the opportunity to care not only for members but also for the families who support them. Neurological conditions often affect entire families, and I value helping loved ones navigate challenges together.

I strive to provide care that is thoughtful, collaborative, and grounded in communication. My goal is for members and families to feel heard, informed, and supported throughout their care experience.

How I thrive

When time allows, I enjoy cooking, traveling, photography, and spending time outdoors with my family. One of my favorite activities is taking my daughter on hiking adventures, even if she doesn't always share my enthusiasm.

I'm also working toward finding a healthy balance between work and life, and I hope to make my way back to running half marathons one day. If we happen to meet, feel free to ask how that's going!
