About me

Hello, my name is Prakash Desai. Welcome to my web page! I am happy to have this chance to introduce myself to you and tell you about my practice.

Biography

I was born and raised in England, and my family immigrated to the U.S. when I was a teenager. Since then I have lived in beautiful southern California. I remained here for college, medical school, residency, and fellowship. I completed my neurology residency at LA County+ USC Medical Center, and then completed a fellowship in neuromuscular disease at UCLA. I also earned a master's degree in biology and published the results of my research. I decided to specialize in neurology because the complexity and the functionality of the nervous system fascinates me.

About my practice

I enjoy practicing general neurology and the variety of neurological conditions that I encounter. As an osteopathic physician I emphasize helping each patient achieve a high level of wellness by focusing on health promotion and disease prevention when possible. I believe that the best results are achieved through education, informed decisions, and teamwork between the patient and the physician. I try to give my patients the same care that I would want my own family to receive.

How I thrive

I appreciate a balance between work and family life which helps keep me sane! In my spare time I enjoy photography, gardening, and spending time with my family.
