Where I practice
Hello, and welcome to my Web page. My relationship with the families I serve is the fundamental basis for my practice. I have been a pediatrician at the West Los Angeles Medical Offices since 1988. I hope this Web page helps you learn more about me.
I was born and raised in Long Beach and have been surrounded by medical professionals my whole life. My father is a physician and my mother is a nurse. I went to medical school in Boston, which was a great experience. Living on the East Coast—3,000 miles away from home—taught me to be independent.. After medical school, I returned to Southern California to train at UCLA and to be close to my parents and sisters. My family now includes my wife and my three daughters, who are the center of my life and who keep me very busy at home! I try to be involved as much as possible with their day-to-day activities. In the past I served on the board of directors of the preschool my daughters attended, and have continued to support their interests with activities in Heal the Bay. I've also maintained a clinical attending teaching position at UCLA since 1988.
About my practice
I feel it is a privilege to practice medicine. For me, treating my patients also means involving their families in the decision-making process. There are often several ways to deal with a problem, and parent and patient input always plays a role. Gaining your trust in my care is my ultimate goal.
How I thrive
Balancing my life between medicine, family, exercise, and leisure is important and challenging. I have been a skier for most of my life, and have always enjoyed sports and competition. I know how important staying active, eating well and leading a healthy lifestyle is, and I try to instill those values in my patients as well as in my family and myself.
