Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page. I'm glad you've stopped by. Don't forget to sign up for access on kp.org, where you can email me as well as check your test results. I look forward to meeting you.
I grew up in a relatively large family — by today's standards—with 5 siblings and 2 very strict but loving parents. My poor parents had to play referees frequently as we were a bunch of rowdy kids. My father's side of the family is heavily French influenced, and French was my second language. (Sadly, it is no longer my dominant language.) I love languages and studied some German, Spanish, and Vietnamese. I do speak some Spanish and Vietnamese. I grew up mostly in Los Angeles but have traveled quite a bit and lived in many different places in the country, including New York and Chicago. However, Los Angeles is home sweet home.
About my practice
I joined Kaiser Permanente’s Downey Medical Center in 2012, but I've been in practice for a while. I was trained in both internal medicine and pediatrics. I enjoy pediatrics because I love being around children and their infectious enthusiasm, but I also enjoy working in adult medicine because I find it intellectually stimulating. I believe in the importance of integrating the mind, body, and spirit in my daily practice. I also believe in having a sense of humor and will try to make you laugh at least once during your visit with me. I take my work very seriously but never forget to have fun. What matters the most to me is being able to make a positive difference in someone's life.
How I thrive
I have many interests, so it's about finding the time to do everything that I want to do yet having enough time for family and friends. I play the piano and am trying to learn the guitar (not as easy as I thought, this self-taught thing!); I also enjoy writing and poetry and dabble in oil and watercolor painting, but I also like to spend time doing activities like hiking, bike riding, and dancing. I also would love to get back to doing triathlon again, so maybe someday. Now if I can just find some time to get more sleep!
