Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page! I am a nephrologist, specializing in medical disorders of the kidneys.
I have lived in California my entire life and completed all of my education here. I received my undergraduate degree from UC Berkeley and my medical doctorate from UC San Diego. Following graduation, I completed a residency in internal medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, one of the UCLA hospitals. I subsequently completed a subspecialty fellowship in nephrology at Stanford University and served as a National Kidney Foundation research fellow before joining Kaiser Permanente in 2005. I am proud to be part of a group that both offers treatment for the sick and promotes healthy living to help prevent illness.
About my practice
Kidney disease is very complex and my members require coordination with other physicians, nurses, and pharmacists. I primarily care for members with end-stage kidney failure who require renal replacement therapy, commonly known as hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis. I also provide care to kidney transplant recipients and consult with members who have advanced chronic kidney disease. I encourage member education, straightforward communication, and family involvement.
How I thrive
I believe that being healthy is a state of mind that requires a balance between physical, mental, and spiritual wellness. Everyone needs to exercise, eat healthy foods, and get enough rest. In my spare time, I enjoy cooking and spending time with my family.
