About me
Hello, all! I’m thrilled to be a part of the Kaiser Permanente community in beautiful San Diego. I hope my Web page can help you get to know me, and I hope to be a trusted advocate in your medical care experience. My last name is Murray, but I’ve been called Dr. Parker so many times that I do think it has a nice ring to it, and I will respond to pretty much anything! (That’s what I get for having 3 last names.) It’s lovely to meet you!
Biography
Raised at the base of the Rockies with easy access to all the beautiful outdoor gems and national parks Utah holds, I have always loved a good adventure. I found more wide-open spaces and a diverse community when I moved to Texas for my medical training, where I experienced a lifetime’s worth of Southern hospitality in a few short years. Residency brought me to Southern California, and I don’t know if I will ever leave. San Diego may not have the slopes I grew up on, but I sure don’t mind year-round sunshine. Medicine too has been a great adventure, and I cherish the opportunities I have as an obstetrician/gynecologist to support women and families during some of their highest highs and lowest lows. My whole life, I have planned to be a doctor, but medical school showed me how much passion I have for women’s health, and I adore the chance to be surrounded by inspiring women, both members and colleagues.
About my practice
Accessing health care can sometimes be scary and frustrating, but I hope I can help ease some of the burden for those seeking obstetric/gynecologic care by being an advocate and partner for members. I’ve learned that wellness is not an activity, a conference, or an event but an ongoing process and journey that I hope to share with you, no matter what stage of health you are in. I aim to treat members with the same care I’d give my mother or my sisters (and I have 4!). I address emotional health along with physical health, knowing that true well-being comes through both mind and body. Fertility struggles, LGBTQ+ needs, and contraception access are particularly important to me, though I hope that no matter what you are facing, you will find me a trusted companion in your health journey.
How I thrive
I have found the most fulfillment at work when the other components of my life are in balance. My passion for outdoor adventure takes me to the mountains, to the beach, and daily to the dog park with my doodle, Archie. I enjoy travel and quality time with my partner and our family. I consider myself a huge foodie and will always have a new recommendation anytime you see me. Twenty years of passion for beach volleyball definitely have me excited to live 10 minutes from the beach. I also look forward to contributing to the LGBTQ+ community in Hillcrest and surrounding neighborhoods. Can’t wait to meet y’all!
