Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page. I’m happy that this page allows me to introduce myself to you and tell you about my practice. I work with wonderful colleagues and members at Kaiser Permanente, and I look forward to working with you, too.
After I finished medical school in Pakistan, I came to Chicago to do my residency training. Because I have a history of respiratory problems, I chose to do a fellowship in pediatric pulmonology at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. After I finished my fellowship, I joined the Division of Pediatric Pulmonology at UCLA as a faculty member. A couple of years later, I moved to Albuquerque so I could take a similar position at the University of New Mexico. Just before coming to Los Angeles, I was in private practice in Las Vegas. When Kaiser Permanente offered me my current position, I decided to come back home.
About my practice
I’m the director of the Cystic Fibrosis Program at the Los Angeles Medical Center, and lead the cystic fibrosis team—which includes a case manager, respiratory care practitioner, dietitian, social worker, child life specialist, and pharmacist. In addition to cystic fibrosis, I’m qualified to manage a wide spectrum of children’s lung diseases, including chronic cough, asthma, recurring pneumonia, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, tracheostomy, lung malformations, brain or muscle problems that affect breathing, and other less common lung diseases. I’m also interested in pediatric sleep medicine and have experience in managing children with sleep apnea and other sleep disorders. I can also perform bronchoscopy—which allows me to look inside your lungs’ airways, and interpret various different lung function tests. I am board-certified in pediatric pulmonology and pediatric sleep medicine.
How I thrive
Kaiser Permanente’s philosophy of health in body, mind, and spirit, is something I try to practice in my life every day. My family life is my highest priority, and I like to keep a balance between it and my professional life. I enjoy nature and the outdoors, and I love to visit parks with my family.
