Where I practice
To find a family medicine physician is to find a home base where all of your primary care and prevention services can be coordinated. I hope you find my Web page helpful in your search for the right match for your and your family's medical needs.
I grew up mostly in Southern California, moving every four years or so when the United States Navy stationed my family at a different base. The longest I have ever lived in one place, before moving to Bakersfield in 2003, was during the eight years of the integrated medical program at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. After three years of residency in Kaiser Permanente's family medicine program in Los Angeles, my husband and I moved to Kern County to fulfill my National Health Service Corps scholarship. Once our first daughter was born, we came to appreciate everything Bakersfield has to offer to young families like ours. After completing my scholarship service, we decided to stay in the area, and I joined Kaiser Permanente at the East Hills Medical Center. As my career continues, I hope to become a resource for teens and women.
About my practice
I recently received a great honor from the California Academy of Family Physicians when they named me their 2013 Family Physician of the Year. For me, being a family physician is about translating medical knowledge in a way that empowers you to take care of yourself and your family and to stay healthy for as long as possible. As part of Kaiser Permanente, I have resources at my fingertips to help you achieve your wellness goals and manage your medical needs. I want to be your partner in health, and it helps me to better care for you when you are actively involved in taking care of your health.
How I thrive
My family is my highest priority outside of work, and I try to surround my family and myself with generous, caring friends who make us laugh. And I always remember to take deep breaths, sleep well, and find humor in most situations.
