Where I practice
Thank you for visiting my Web page. I am an Orthopaedic Surgeon subspecializing in sports medicine, and am excited to practice within the Kaiser Permanente healthcare system.
I grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, with 3 brothers, enjoying all that the Midwest had to offer. I completed my undergraduate studies in Biology at Washington University in St. Louis. Next, I attended medical school at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA, prior to matching into Orthopaedic Surgery residency at University of California, San Diego. During this time, I also completed a research fellowship studying cartilage injury and repair. After residency, I completed a surgical fellowship specializing in sports medicine at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.
About my practice
I am broadly trained in Orthopaedics, and am comfortable providing the initial evaluation, operative and non-operative management of musculoskeletal conditions, and post-operative care. Having focused my interests during my sports medicine fellowship, my surgical skill set and particular interests include: arthroscopic and open management of ligamentous, meniscal, and chondral injuries of the knee; arthroscopic management of hip labral tears and hip impingement; arthroscopic and open management of shoulder instability; surgical management of rotator cuff pathology; shoulder Arthroplasty; operative and non-operative management of general orthopaedic trauma. Beyond my ability to manage musculoskeletal conditions, throughout my training I have developed my ability to work within healthcare teams, in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I have participated in the education of medical students and resident trainees, and additionally have contributed to Orthopaedic knowledge through multiple research projects resulting in publication. I hope that my personal qualities and professional abilities translate into excellent member care within the Orthopaedic profession.
How I thrive
Outside of work, I thrive by staying active. My wife and I love to get outdoors to hike with our Labrador retriever, Bucket.
