About me

I am a board-certified physician in both hematology and internal medicine, and I practice hematology and oncology at Kaiser Permanente’s Los Angeles Medical Center. My clinical focus includes the full spectrum of blood- and cancer-related conditions, but I have a special interest in bleeding and clotting disorders.

I also serve as the physician support for Kaiser Permanente’s regional pharmacy hemophilia program, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to help members manage complex coagulation conditions.

Biography

I chose this field because I’ve always felt called to care for people facing serious, often life-changing illnesses. It’s a privilege to be part of members’ journey and to help them navigate these challenges with the best care and support possible.

About my practice

My Cancer Subspecialty

My practice includes the diagnosis and treatment of both benign and malignant hematologic conditions, as well as solid tumors. I care for members with leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and a variety of other cancers. I am actively involved in our multidisciplinary tumor boards to ensure that each member receives a comprehensive, individualized treatment plan.

I also serve on the Southern California Regional Subspecialty Malignant Hematology Committee, where I help evaluate new therapies and contribute to the development of Kaiser Permanente’s National Oncology Care Pathways. This work ensures that members have access to up-to-date treatments based on evidence and current research.

In addition to cancer care, I have a strong clinical focus on bleeding and thrombotic disorders, such as hemophilia, von Willebrand disease, deep vein thrombosis, and pulmonary embolism. Whether you are newly diagnosed or have been managing a blood disorder for years, I’m here to partner with you in improving your health and quality of life.

National Expertise and Multidisciplinary Teams

I believe that effective care is built on collaboration. I work alongside a dedicated team of physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and social workers to provide coordinated, multidisciplinary care. In addition to my work on the Malignant Hematology Committee, I contribute regional expertise to our Malignant Hematology Tumor Board, where we review complex cases and develop team-based treatment plans tailored to each member.

As part of this work, I continue to support Kaiser Permanente’s regional pharmacy hemophilia program, ensuring high-quality, team-based care for members with bleeding disorders. These collaborative efforts help provide members with effective and up-to-date treatments.

Research and Clinical Trials

In addition to clinical care, I participate in cancer research through national networks including:

  • SWOG Cancer Research Network
  • NSABP (National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project)
  • NRG Oncology
  • Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology

As a National Cancer Institute Community Oncology Program sub-investigator, I help bring promising new treatments to members through clinical trials — offering hope and options for those facing difficult diagnoses.

How I thrive

A balanced life is essential to me. When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family, staying active through daily exercise — whether at the gym, on my bike, or outdoors — and relaxing with a good book, a movie, or a play. I also enjoy exploring great food and wine. These things help me recharge and stay grounded in the important work I do with members every day.
